DAVID E. EAGAN
David E. Eagan has been successfully practicing law for over thirty-five years.
Prior to forming DAVID E. EAGAN & ASSOCIATES PLLC, for over fifteen years Mr. Eagan was the Founding and Managing Partner of EAGAN & MATTHEWS PLLC (and its predecessor law firm MacLACHLAN & EAGAN LLP), an East Hampton law firm specializing in all regulatory and litigation aspects of real property, environmental, land use and zoning law.
Prior to forming EAGAN & MATTHEWS PLLC, Mr. Eagan practiced law for over 22 years in Manhattan, as a partner in the New York Office of FULBRIGHT & JAWORSKI LLP, the international law firm. Prior thereto, Mr. Eagan was a Partner in the New York Office of BATTLE FOWLER LLP, a national law firm and was associated with the international law firm CHADBOURNE & PARKE LLP for over a decade. His practice focused on all aspects of corporate and business law including domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and other business and real estate matters.
Mr. Eagan received a B.A., Magna Cum Laude, in history from the State University of New York College of Arts and Sciences at Geneseo in 1979 and a J.D., Cum Laude, from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1982, where he was an associate of the Buffalo Law Review and editor of the New York Sea Grant Law and Policy Journal. While attending law school Mr. Eagan was also a Sea Grant Law Scholar.
He was admitted to practice in New York in 1983.
Mr. Eagan has repeatedly been awarded the highest rating for legal competency and professional reliability.
From September 2016 to present Mr. Eagan has also served as Senior Vice President Development and General Counsel of Wainscott Commercial Center LLC. In that role, Mr. Eagan has led that entity’s efforts to complete the largest commercial subdivision and development on Long Island’s South Fork.
Mr. Eagan also serves as the President of the Board of Trustees of the Wainscott Common School District, one of New York State’s most unique school District’s that has operated a one-room schoolhouse continuously since 1730.
Mr. Eagan also serves a Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center located in East Hampton, New York, a not-for-profit learning center providing innovative early education for children in East Hampton and surrounding communities.
Mr. Eagan resides in Wainscott, New York with his wife Mary Ann McCaffrey, where they own and operate their horse farm known as KILMORE.
